The Kavli Trust is our new partner

We are happy to announce that Children and War Foundation has entered into an agreement the Kavli Trust regarding the project Helping traumatised children cope.

The project will contribute to meeting the needs for psychological help to traumatised children in disasters and war through training people in using CAW's Teaching Recovery Techniques (TRT)

Since receiving the funding, we have already held several trainings. In August, we conducted two three-day courses in Arabic online for helpers working with traumatised children in Palestine, Lebanon and Syria. A total of 87 therapists, teachers and others participated. They express that they are very happy to learn these methods and that they are better able to help children in very difficult situations. Throughout the project we will hold approximately 13 trainings, both physical, online and hybrid. Some will be open to anyone, but the main strategy is to work with partners who will be able to support the interventions over time to make sure these are integrated into a holistic and co-ordinated response that does no harm and supports sustainable systems.

The project will also enable the CAW Trainers to be strengthened as a group, as there will be a workshop for learning and sharing experiences.
